In order to find out what my audience wanted/expected from a London promotional video I carried out primary research. In order to conduct my primary research I had to use a website called Survey Monkey that helped us to easily create and send out surveys. Here are the questions and results of the surveys that I sent out.
I carried out two surveys; one qualitative and one quantitative. By doing this I could find out what my audience wanted based on the guidelines I have given them. The open questions will help me to find out more of what my audience would like to see from a promotional video.
From the first survey I asked my audience general questions about themselves and about London. From the general questions it gave me a better idea of what my audience was like. I also asked what parts of London they lived to have a better picture of the areas of which I should film. These general questions will help me to piece together an image in my head of the footage I should have and the facts I should include in my promo video.
The second survey was much more in depth than the first. All six questions of the questions were open, although not all of the responses were 100%, they will still help out with the creation of my promo. The point of using open questions was to see what the audience members wanted specifically, that way I would be able to better tailor it towards them.
