A video game theme is incorporated inside many real life situations, news stories and documentaries to help target a specific few members of the audience. One of the major topics inside gaming of which still plagues news websites and various other situations is the violence included within some games. 8 years ago a major Call of Duty game was released. Due to one of the scenes within the game, news companies such as Sky News and BBC wrote many articles questioning the ethics behind creating such a violent scene. Another topic of which is still trending today is the question of, "do video games make you violent?" News companies have used topics such as this to target the audience of worried parents, that are scared of letting their kids play video games. Many negative events are constantly linked to effect of video games on particular people. From this I can learn that in order to subvert the typical representation of video game themes I will need to include a much more family friendly theme and present the better effect of games rather than constantly focus on their negatives.
